UW Health Doctors will continue to provide network for health insurance patients from the Blue Cross Blue Shield until July 1.
Madison -based Health System and Multi -State Health Insurance Company announced in a joint statement on Wednesday that they had agreed to extend their current deal, which ended on April 15.
The update has come in less than two weeks when UW Health failed to announce its efforts to attend the Anthim’s provider network.

Both companies accused the other of pursuing changes that would damage patients’ care.
UW Health claims in a previous statement that the anthem is offering rates that they pay to other Wisconsin hospitals. The health system also said that the anthem wants to be able to change the terms of payment without recovery, which can delay the claim of UW health or even refuse to take care of patients.
But a spokesman for the anthem called UW Health to increase the “excessive” rate, saying it was much higher than the current inflation rate for some UW health care facilities.
In a joint statement on Wednesday, the two companies said they were “committed to discussing a new multi -year contract” to ensure that anti -insurance patients could continue to take care of UW hospitals and clinics, UnitPoint Health Meritors and other affiliated places.
According to a previous statement from UW Health, anti -insurance patients had begun to receive notice of the potential elimination of network coverage. The network contract also affects people with commercial insurance as well as medical and medical advanced plan.
