Annual Western Colorado elementary science fair

Grand Junction, Colo. (KCO) – On March 12, Euraka! The McConnell Science Museum hosted its annual Western Colorado Elementary Science Fair. About 80 80 projects were offered during the showcase. “I think this is important because it gives students a hand in scientific processes,” said Julie Anis, Science Fair Coordinator. Some schools worked in their science curriculum for the year at the Science Fair, but Ennis said most of the requests were voluntarily.

Students started their plans with assumptions and worked through different variables to test their consistency. Some students said they spent months in examining various variables.

Plans shown at the Science Fair include: The effect of nitrogen at the compost temperature, how the butter quantity can affect the results of the cookie, and how the music can affect a person’s mood.

The Science Fair ended with an award ceremony where students were identified for their hard work.
