Three Louisiana parishes are still under curfew.
Threats from this week’s winter blast have prompted three Louisiana parishes to issue curfews and urge people to stay off the roads.
Lafourche Parish The curfew has started from 8 am tomorrow while the snowy conditions will continue.
St. Bernard Parish Due to snowfall, the curfew started at 6 pm yesterday and will continue till 12 noon today.
City of Paquion The curfew was imposed at 6 pm yesterday and is scheduled to end at 7 am today.
Total snowpack on Louisiana’s snowiest day in 100 years
Parts of Louisiana recorded a total of 10 inches of snow as a rare winter storm battered the Gulf Coast, making travel dangerous or impossible.
As New Orleans’ NBC affiliate WDSU reported, 6 to 10 inches fell in the Big Easy and many Bayou parishes are more used to baking sun. The storm beat forecasters’ predictions, which called for up to 8 inches of snow.
More than 90,000 are without power along the Gulf Coast
