White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt said it was a “promise” and “another win for Americans of all races, religions and beliefs.”
“President Trump campaigned to end the scourge of DEI from our federal government and return America to a merit-based society,” he added.
Trump threatens China with 10% tariffs on fentanyl claims
Donald Trump has threatened to start a trade war with China after he plans to impose a 10 percent tariff on goods imported from the country to the United States over fentanyl.
“We’re talking about a 10 percent tariff on China based on the fact that they’re shipping fentanyl to Mexico and Canada,” Trump said.
In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said on Wednesday that “we always believe that there are no winners in a tariff or trade war” and that his country would protect its interests.
During his campaign, Trump proposed that he would seek 25 percent tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada.
