Arlington, VA – Arlington Tech, Governor Steam Academy Computer Science Program and Arlington Career Center hosted APSHSPCThe first competition for middle and high school students in Earlington Public Schools.
Arlington Tech student Shell Shah, and York Town students Braden Zee and Net Leone, all of whom participated in the Arlington Career Care Center CTEIT Pathway, which took place on January 25 at the Arlington Career Center.
Sixty students participated in the competition, which presented computer programming challenges. Students solved the challenges by using programming languages, Java or C ++, all the through which they learned. Arlingon Tech computer science. The competition was designed to challenge and encourage the next generation of coders and problems.
“When I was in middle school, I knew a lot about computer science,” said Shah, a senior at the governor’s stem academy, said. “I searched for activities and took a class but did not learn anything because it was more than what I had already learned – I was sitting in class bored. That’s why I came to Arlington Tech. If I already knew the content, I had the opportunity to participate in internship or projects, which made me further.”
