Trug Warning: This story mentions domestic violence.
Veteran Punjabi singer Nasibu Lal has decided not to take legal action against her husband, Naveed Hussain, despite lodging a police complaint.
In an FIR filed at Shahidra Town Police Station on Saturday, Lal claimed that she was sitting in the garden at her residence in Shahidra town at 5 pm on Friday when her husband returned home and started torturing her verbally. He alleged that he then hit his face with bricks, injured the left and the nose.
The singer maintained that Hussein often fought with him and demanded legal action against him.
The report was filed under Section 354 of the Pakistan Code of Conduct, which relates to an attack or criminal force on a woman with the intention of grieving her politeness.
However, in a recent statement presented to the police, she said that she and her husband resolved the matter in themselves yesterday. She added that she no longer wants to take legal action against her.
