Van Jones Warns of ‘Volcanic Eruption of Outrage’ Toward Chuck Schumer

CNN’s political commentator and former Obama adviser Van Jones warned the Senate’s minority leader, Chak Shamar, about the “volcano eruption”, after the federal spending bill was approved on Friday night.

Newsweek Arrived at Shamar’s office by email on Friday night for comment.

Why does it make a difference

The Stap Gap Bill or the ongoing resolution (CR) first mobilized a controversial period in the House between the Republicans as some legislators were on the fence to support it.

President Donald Trump supported the House’s GOP Bill, but Kentucky’s Republican Congress member Thomas Masi condemned Trump’s guidance, not eventually voted. However, the bill approved the House and proceeded to the Senate, setting a phase for the Democrats dispute.

Earlier this week, Shamar had warned that Republicans did not have so many Democrats to approve the bill, but then saying that they would vote for it. Shamar faced a response from his party’s key members, including Alexandria Okasio Cortez, a Democratic Congress woman, who said that the senators created a “widespread sense of fraud” in favor of the bill.

What to know?

Talking to CNN’s Erin Bernate on Friday, Jones said he had never seen this “level of volcanic anger in the Democrat”.

Jones said, “We can be frustrated. We can be disappointed with each other, there is a volcano of anger at the leader Shammer because we want Mach McConnell.” “I remember when Obama had all the cards, Mach McConnel drove Obama nuts, turned his pink, broke his knee, and made equipment for Republicans when he should not have been inch, he got mail.”

Jones added: “We have a leader of the majority of the Senate who is beloved in this party, but we want someone who stands with this bully. Stand with this bully. Do something. And if you close the government and it … gets a little crazy, at least some of the memories of it.

In a video posted on the first Twitter, X, Shamar explained his rationality of green lighting to the CR, saying that Trump and billionaire Elon Musk would be used to “convert the government into an over -drive”.

In the video, Shamar says the shutdown would have offered landscapes to the potential and the government’s performance in order to dismiss millions of federal workers and shutter the entire departments. A New York -based senator also says it would benefit billionaires in case of tax deduction.

Shammer added that the US court system could withdraw the money during the official shutdown, and that the courts are included in a few “refugees” capable of failing Musk and Trump during the second term of the president.

What are people saying

Trump on true social Friday morning: “Congratulations to Chak Shamar on the right thing – ‘courage’ and courage! Tax reduction, laundering, loan roof bill, and more, we should all work together on this very dangerous situation. A non -pass will be destroying a country, approval will lead us to a new one, a new one, and a big deal.

House Speaker Mike Johnson posted on X on Friday: “The Republicans are standing together to work again, this time to approve a CR, which freezes the costs for the rest of the fiscal year 25 and funds the government. The shameful thing is that 99 % of the Democrats in Congress voted in favor of shutting down the government – but they love the United States.

Continue: “Never forget that the Democrats voted to stop: Our troops, border patrols, and TSA employees’ salaries for salaries and benefits for veterans and benefits and essential services and programs are just a meaningful political approach to the public, while using the Democrats for the use of a positive, political outcome.

What happens next

The CR moves to Trump’s desk to sign before the deadline at 11:59 am.
