ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has offered the use of Gwadar and Karachi ports for maximum access to emerging markets in Central Asia.
The offer was made this week during a high -level meeting between Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal and his Omani counterpart, Qusi al -Yusuf.
An official announcement issued by the Ministry of Commerce in Islamabad said that the two sides discussed strategies to increase bilateral trade and investment. It was also agreed on the need to improve transport links and use Pakistan as a trade route for Central Asian countries.
The Pakistani delegation highlighted the capabilities of Gwadar and Karachi ports as an important center for regional trade, offering Oman to maximize access to emerging markets. The meeting focuses on textile, small and medium -sized businesses (SMEs), agriculture, food safety and sector cooperation in manufacturing.

The two ministers emphasized the importance of industrial cooperation, joint ventures and agricultural trade to ensure sustainable supply chain.
Pakistan invited Oman to find investment opportunities in its industrial and manufacturing sectors.
Trade Minister Jam Kamal highlighted Pakistan’s industrial skills and business competition. “Oman, can benefit from Pakistan’s expertise, information, and industrial and commercial ability to achieve the goals of the economic diversity described in Vision 2040, which is a long -term plan for development and reform.”
Jam Kamal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhance economic cooperation with Oman.
Qais -ul -Yusuf acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic importance in regional trade, highlighting that “historical relations and geographical proximity Pakistan is calling Pakistan the most effective trade route for the Central Asian states”.
He expressed his interest in strengthening his economic partnership with Pakistan and increasing trade and investment opportunities in key sectors.
The two ministers confirmed their dedication to work together on economic measures, enhance trade and strengthen investment relations.
The meeting ended with the repetition of joint vision to seek new growth opportunities.
In the delegation of Omani, Saleh said that Masan, Absam Ahmad al -Furgi, Rashid said that Rashdi, Khalid Ali al -Habisi and Sohib Amir al -Safi said.
The Pakistani delegation included Ambassador Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ashrat Bhatti and Talla Khan.
