Kansas City, Mo. – The Big 12 Tournament Spring has been the unofficial gate for years, fans come from far away to please their team in Kansas City.
But in March 2020, when the outbreak of Covade 19 forced conference officials to cancel most of the tournament, all of this stopped. It was the beginning of the cancellation of dozens of major incidents in the name of public protection.
Five years later, when it comes to big events, our point of view about almost everything has changed.
I went Jackson County Public Health To achieve health workers’ perspectives – then and now – when it comes to keeping yourself healthy and safe.

Ray Dilgulki remembers when he and his colleagues knew that Kovide 19 was about to become a major problem.
“We have seen the whole country poping throughout the country, which has no well -known relationships or contacts with other issues in existence, and this is a huge red flag,” he said.
And he knew what was likely to worsen the problem.
“We had no tests.”

This means a problem with no border. Think about it like to fight fire without the ability to control it on any occasion.
When the Big 12 tournaments and other incidents started to stop, Dilgulki said people’s reactions changed overnight.
“I remember very clearly that the tone of these lines changes almost Immediately immediately with questions about old parents or other treatments or tests, ‘it affects me. When will it end? This is something that is disrupting my life, it needs to be stopped.”
Now we all know that stopping it was not going to be an option at any time. Looking back, Dilgulki told her exactly what it was.
“Covade was a awakened call for us,” said Dlugulyki. [accreditation] The standards that are present in this country should be able to meet the public health department. There were only seven agencies in the state of Missouri that meet these standards. We were not close even before Kovid. “
Today, this is not the case anymore. Everything has changed, even at Lee’s summit, the building where the health department is now kept. It was a widespread testing facility in the days of Provide, but now it has adjusted many of the department’s large staff.

In our conversation, Dlugulki described another change of subsequent change that still represents a challenge.
He said, “We can say that we have a good understanding of it and, therefore, we can assign it a risk level.
Delgolki told me that he was 100 % confident that if he could be five years behind, he would be able to tell his colleagues that he would be better ready to respond to something like Coid. And this is incredibly important.
“It is a very real possibility that we will see some signs of the spread of a famous Rosenic outbreak in the near future,” said Dilgulki. “We have a better understanding of the risk of respiratory conditions. We have a responsibility to protect not only our own but other people in our society … An important aspect of them when we move forward.”
During our conversation, Dilgolki told me that Jackson County Public Health is at an important time as the department is waiting to see how Trump and the Kehu administration can affect the federal and state grants/funding.
