New Orleans City Council says Mayor Cantrells breaking travel ban

New Orleans City Council President JP Morrell criticized Mayor Latvia Center for violating the travel ban by attending the Yel Mayor College Conference in Washington DC.

“The mayors are once again traveling across the country. At the last council meeting, the council unanimously suspended all the travels for all the city employees throughout the city because of the budget crisis, the mayor claims that we have.

The ban bans unnecessary travel and related expenses from March 9 to April 30. Morrell’s letter argues that the pre -approved journey is not exempt, as the ordinance also contains provisions for payment of canceled trips. He calls for a full accounting of any expenses.

“Non -serious journey is not necessary. Eating and spending a lot of spending on SEB Tuke like us, so, we stopped all this. Yet the mayor left to go to DC to roam with Yale.

The city claims that the conference was scheduled before the ban and it has been emphasized that no price will be raised. The dispute arises between the financial concerns and scrutiny of the mayor’s journey. Morrell’s letter condemns the mayor’s actions, and discussing that financial discipline should be preferred.

“She argues that because of this ordinance, she was offered before she is allowed. This is not true at all. We knew that it was possible that the mayor would try to work on all the journey before the law enforcement.

In response, the city considers the defense of this journey beneficial for leadership development and rejects criticism as discrimination.
