The country’s interior minister said at least 51 people were killed and more than 100 injured in a fire at a nightclub in Kochi, northern Macedonia.
According to a Northern Macedonian official news agency, Minister, Pancha Toshkoski announced the deaths at a press conference on Sunday morning.
According to the MIA, more than 80 people injured in the tragedy were taken to Scopaji hospitals and clinics, according to the country’s capital city, the country’s Minister of Justice, Igor Flicov, said that all the people involved in the tragedy would be held responsible.
Northern Macedonian Prime Minister Hurstjin McCowski said it was a “difficult and very tragic day”.
He wrote on X, “The loss of many young lives is irreparable, while the pain of our family, our close and our friends is immense.”
According to local media, a fire broke out at Kochi’s ‘Plus’ nightclub.
DNA, which is a Macedonian pop group, was performing at the club on Saturday night according to its Instagram account.
